Izayoi — A Garden of Insect Songs — Effective September 30, 2026; updated October 7, 2026 (Android added)
Izayoi lets you search the autumn night for singing insects and release them into your own garden. The app does not collect your information or send it anywhere.
None. The developer does not collect any personal information or usage data. There are no accounts.
The insects you catch, their names, your garden layout, app settings, and the number of tips you have sent are stored only on your device. They may be included in your device backup (iCloud on iPhone, Google backup on Android) or device migration, which is handled by Apple or Google; the developer cannot see them. Deleting the app deletes this information.
The app uses your device’s share sheet only when you choose to save or share a garden video (on iPhone it asks to add to your photo library). It never reads your photo library.
On Android, the app shows a notification (“Playing insect songs”) while it is playing so that the sound keeps going when your screen is locked. The notification is shown on your device only; no information is sent.
Izayoi is free, with every feature included. Tips are handled by Apple through the App Store (iPhone) or by Google through Google Play (Android). The developer does not receive your payment information.
The app contains no advertising and no analytics or tracking tools.
